The Shepherd's Hut
The Shepherd’s Hut has a spectacular location with glorious uninterrupted rural views, cosy log burner and swimming pool.
Set in rolling countryside on the Welsh / Shropshire border, it has its own private access & parking and enjoys mains water, electricity and drainage. Behind the Hut is a pond with an island and mown tracks lead through the meadows for exploring. Just a mile away is the pretty village of Overton on Dee with its medieval church, pub and shops.
The space
The Shepherd’s Hut sleeps two and is furnished to a very high standard. There is a double bed with storage beneath, a kitchen area with sink and granite worktop, woodburner on granite plinth and an en suite shower, wash basin and wc. There is a bedside tv with built in dvd player - whilst there is no tv signal in the valley, there are lots of up to date films on dvd for guests to view. The kitchen is equipped with kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave oven together with a selection of crockery and utensils. Outside is a barbecue and seating area. There is a good mobile phone signal for all networks in the valley.
Guests have their own private access from the quiet single track lane to the field where a mown area provides parking. A series of mown pathways then lead up to the Shepherd’s Hut, the pond and surrounding meadows. There are magnificent views over rolling border countryside and further mown tracks through the pasture leading up to the heated swimming pool, which is shared with guests staying at Little Pentre Barn.
What makes the Shepherd’s Hut unique is the seclusion of its location and the wonderful views over the surrounding woodland and fields. The late evening sun sets over magnificent views towards the Welsh mountains and outside the Shepherd’s Hut is a private garden and seating for guests to enjoy the wonderful views.
Guest access
Guests have access to the eight acres of grounds, the pool and communal areas. Private gardens enclose the two nearby holiday homes and the farmhouse. The Shepherd’s Hut has its own private garden, vehicular access and parking area.
Other things to note
Further guests are not permitted except by arrangement in order to preserve the privacy and seclusion of the location, which is one of its main attractions.
There is a coin meter for electricity which takes £1 and £2 coins. The Hut is very economical and doesn’t draw much power. The Shepherd’s Hut is fully insulated (roof, walls and floors) and is very warm and cozy.
