The Grounds & Sauna Complex

swimming pool and play areaThe private grounds of Little Pentre Barn and The Cottages extend to over eight acres and our guests are most welcome to explore them. Mown tracks lead through the meadows and dotted around the grounds are seating areas, several ponds, a stone circle with firepit, additional large barbecue area with tables and seating, the sauna complex and a "Dragon's Lair".

Each individual property has a private garden area with barbecue and seating. By the pool there is a large communal area, which makes an excellent ball games lawn.

In the middle, bottom and meadow fields guests will find mown paths which meander around the grounds and circle the ponds.  There is a foot bridge (rather rickety so please take care), which leads to “Crocodile Island”.  Please do explore but be aware of the risk to small children.  They must be supervised at all times when close to the water.  Also, please do warn your children about the crocodiles.  There is a lot of weed down there and they tend to hide amongst the reeds. In the bottom corner of the field is the "Dragon's Lair". This is clearly marked and small ones should be properly supervised. Welsh Dragons are highly territorial and extreme caution should be exercised when exploring. In the meadow, guests will find “Sunset Bench” where the setting sun can be seen dropping over Llangollen and the enchanting ruins of Castell Dinas Bran can be glimpsed in the far distance.

If your children would like a little adventure, you are most welcome to pitch a tent anywhere in the grounds. There is a mown camping spot in the centre of the meadow field.

The Sauna complex is located in the middle field and is open to guests upon payment of an additional fee. Inside is a lovely enclosed sauna area with its windows looking out onto magnificent views together with a large seating area with panoramic views towards the Berwyn Hills. PLEASE NOTE: THE SAUNA AREA IS NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE FOR HIRE.
